Our Story

Kim & Patty’s Cafe  opened in December 2010 that seats approximately 75 people. We are known for our breakfast specials, lunch wraps, homemade chips and our award winning McHenry County Living Fan’s Choice Lil Hank Award homemade Cream of Chicken with Rice soup.  Coming into our restaurant is like sitting in your kitchen chatting with your best friend. 

Our restaurant honors those that have served with over 350 pictures of our military and first respondors. And we have created a discount card for those who have served – thanking them every day for their commitment, dedication and sacrifices. I like to think it’s like a big hug from McHenry.

I started out as a carhop at A&W at the age of 16 in 1981 and have waitressed ever since. Little did I realize over the years I was already putting in my time and learning the business. I always kept recipes and wouldn’t share them and would say “I might have a restaurant one day. That was pretty much the business plan and than we opened December 16th, 2010.
